Select the associated equipment in the tree list, then press the <strong>Communication<\/strong> button in the ribbon bar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Select <strong>Add<\/strong> or <strong>Modify<\/strong> in the <strong>Communication Information<\/strong> window, leave the <strong>Communication Role<\/strong> set as <strong>Source<\/strong> and select <strong>Fanuc Focas Host<\/strong> from the <strong>Communication Type<\/strong> drop down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After closing the dialog, the IP Address or&nbsp;<strong>Host<\/strong>&nbsp;name needs to be specified along with the TCP <strong>Port<\/strong>. The default port used for Focas is typically 8193.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The&nbsp;<strong>Poll Rate<\/strong>&nbsp;of 5 seconds can be modified if needed. This is the rate at which DataXchange will request information from the control.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Press the&nbsp;<strong>Finish<\/strong>&nbsp;button to save the changes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Focas Communication as a Target<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">DataXchange can be configured to send information to the Focas control. An individual bit can be a single PMC address.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Setting up Fanuc Focas as a Target is done by going to the <strong>DataXchange<\/strong> tab. The default port used for Focas is typically 8193.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>Series<\/strong> of the control must be specified since each series has different PMC address structures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Specify the <strong>PMC Address<\/strong> to write the data along with the <strong>Bit<\/strong> that should be set.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Press the <strong>Finish<\/strong> button to save the changes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Default Focas Expressions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here is an example of a few FOCAS expressions that come predefined along with a description and the logic statement used to evaluate the expression.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Standard Cycle Start<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The defined cycle start signal will be sent from DataXchange when the Predator PCSDB machine is not in cycle and the Fanuc control is in cycle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><code>([PCSDB.general_equipment_status]!=[PCSDB.CYCLING]) AND ([Focas.cycle_status]=[Focas.CYCLING])<\/code><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Standard Cycle End<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The defined cycle end signal will be sent from DataXchange when the Predator PCSDB machine is in cycle and the Fanuc control is not in cycle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><code>([PCSDB.general_equipment_status]=[PCSDB.CYCLING]) AND ([Focas.cycle_status]=[Focas.IDLE])<\/code><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Custom Expressions<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Custom Expression can be created using the Expression Builder using predefined variables or custom defined variables.
